88th Academy Awards: Best Dressed at the 2016 Oscars

Hollywood’s biggest night definitely did not upset up this year (especially because Leonardo DiCaprio finally took home a well deserved Oscar), and neither did the fashion on the red carpet! Here are my picks for who shined on the red carpet before the big show!

Olivia Wilde

Here is Olivia Wilde looking like a goddess in a beige pleated Valentino Haute Couture gown, with a beautiful backless finish. She completed the look with a pearl embellished Roger Vivier clutch, and styled a polished up-do, with natural pink shimmer for her eyes . Wilde was on top of the hottest fashion trend of the moment seen during NYFW, and on celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, wearing a stunning silver choker.

Brie Larson

The best actress WINNER for Room stunned in this beautiful custom cobalt Gucci gown, with a ruffled skirt. To compliment the dress, Larson wore a navy blue and black velvet crystal and pearl embroidered belt with pearl earrings by Niwaka. She looked effortless with her hair down and pushed back.

Lady Gaga

Gaga stole the red carpet in an all white jumpsuit/dress, with minimal jewelry designed by her longtime stylist Brandon Maxwell. Gaga gave a remarkable performance tonight, singing her Oscar nominated song “Til It Happens To You.”

Saoirse Ronan

Nominated for Best Actress for her role in Brooklyn, Ronan’s wearing a beautiful emerald-green sequins gown with a low velvet back by Calvin Klein. She sported beachy waves, with a green eyeshadow to compliment the dress. Fun Fact: She wanted to wear green on the red carpet to represent Ireland.

Rooney Mara

Riccardo Tisci never disappoints. Mara, nominated for best supporting actress in Carol,  wore a white lace embroidered Givenchy Haute Couture gown, that’s buttoned down from the collar to a diamond cutout, with a ruffled slit down the middle. Mara made sure all eyes were on her dress, which is probably why she styled her hair in three clean bobs.

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts wore a strapless metallic midnight-blue and purple Armani Privé gown, embroidered with Swarovski crystals. She paired the dress with a heavy diamond necklace.

Jennifer Garner

You can never go wrong with black on the carpet… well you can, but Jennifer Garner definitely did not! Garner channeled old hollywood glamour wearing an elegant, yet dramatic, one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown. The dress featured black beading on the tip, with ruffles across her shoulder and skirt.

Alicia Vikander

Vikander won her first Oscar tonight for Best Supporting Actress for The Danish Girl. On the red carpet she wore a custom Louis Vuitton gown with silver embellishments. The strapless silhouette complimented her figure, and the dusty yellow hue looked beautiful on her skin.

But the star who stole the show and the show was Jacob Trembay. Probably the youngest star at the Oscars this year, Trembay wore Armani, and was rooting for his co-star Brie Larson.
