Paris (ft. Baselworld and London)

Paris is the city of love and I had the chance to see if for the first time when my boyfriend Chris came to visit me in London!

Paris

Before going to Paris, Chris and I had to get all the touristy things in London out of the way! We went to Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Westminster, Covent Garden, Harrods, the London Symphonic Orchestra, and many more. It was so great to be reunited again, and have the chance to explore London together! Check out the pictures in the gallery below of his stay here!

PARIS

Now, I finally get to write all about Paris! Visiting Paris has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. Something about the Parisian culture was always very attractive to me, and maybe that has to do with the strong emphasis on fashion and design that has emerged from Paris. That being said, I made sure to make the absolute best of my wardrobe with the little room I had in my luggage.

Day 1: Paris

The first thing Chris and I did was head over the Locks of Love bridge, which was oh so romantic! This is something I’ve always wanted to do when visiting the city of love and I’m so happy that Chris and I had that opportunity! We drew the interlocked C’s on our lock because of the first letter of both our names… and also Coco Chanel because coco+Chanel+Paris= the perfect combination.

After securing our cute little lock on the bridge, we went over the see Notre Dame, then had our very first crêpe! Unfortunately, the crêpe looked better than it tasted, but the one we had later on the trip next to the Eiffle Tower made up for it!

Day 2: Baselworld- Basel, Switzerland

Baselword. Basel, Switzerland.

Baselword. Basel, Switzerland.

On our second day, we took a train to Basel, Switzerland for Baselworld, an annual watch and jewelry convention. This has been on Chris’ bucket list his whole life and it made me extremely happy to go there with him! He is obsessed with watches! I’ve never met anyone who knows as much as he does about watches. He knew more than the specialists at Baselworld did about the brands, function, formation, history, new releases, etc., of basically every watch there (and even brands that weren’t there). I suggest you check out his Instagram to see for yourself (Username: cisakh). He can better explain the details of all the wonderful watches we saw than I ever can, but nonetheless check out some of the photos below! Fun Fact: Chris is now a certified specialist in fine watchmaking.

Day 3: Paris

This might have been my favorite day in Paris because I finally got to see the Eiffel Tower, and my oh my, it was like a dream. After having lunch, with delicious smoothies (pictured below), Chris and I walked down the Champs-Élysées from The Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe, then made our way to the Eiffel Tower. The first time we saw it was during the evening, when it was lit, which literally bought tears to my eyes. At the beginning of the hour at 9pm, the Eiffel tower lit up in sparkles and it took me by surprise, but it’s a moment I will never forget! We finished our day off with a wonderful dinner still looking out to the wonderful view.

Day 4: Last Day in Paris

On our last day, we were in a bit of a time crunch to catch our train but still managed to get a lot done! Chris and I went to The Louvre museum, which we saw some incredible pieces of art, and of course the Mona Lisa! We then made our way to Ladurée to taste some of the best macaroons originally from Paris! The flavors we had were rose, chocolate, vanilla, pistachio, caramel, lemon, banana chocolate, and raspberry, and they were all delicious! Straight after Ladurée, we went back to the Eiffel Tower to see the beauty again during the day and managed to snap this adorable photo!

Chris’ visit has been magical, and traveling from London to Paris to Switzerland has been an amazing adventure. Of course, I’m very upset that he had to go back to New York but I can’t wait to be reunited soon in a couple months! I credit Chris for a lot of the amazing photos. Thanks for reading!
